Garden Constructions were lucky enough to be contacted by block contestants Karlie and Will to design and construct their terrace and yard space to complete their apartment on the Block 2016. The brief was to design a practical but impressive entertaining area with a lush garden and grassed area to elevate them from the other contestants. Having only a few days to prepare, the design was the first of many challenges associated with the incredibly tight deadlines the television production demands.
The team did well in a week to construct a fifty square meter deck, recycled timber storage cupboard, custom designed bar and floating bench seating, grassed area with recycled timber raised garden edge, climbing trellis and tropical planting. Also included were garden and seat lighting, fully automatic irrigation system, automated audio system and BBQ.
